Get on the list for our 2026 application!

The Salinas Valley Fair Heritage Foundation would invites all active high school aged 4-H and FFA participants to apply for the Heritage Foundation Scholarship and the chance to raise the Heritage Animal every year. Along with raising the Heritage Animal, the scholarship winner will receive a $2,500 scholarship (see requirements below) and several other rewards. We are also offering a $500 scholarship to the Reserve Winner (runner-up).

Over the past twenty-one years, the sale of the Heritage Animal has contributed more than $2,000,000 to the Heritage Foundation. Since the Orradre Building revitalization project has been completed, the Heritage Foundation continues to work on various fair improvement projects. Please consider applying to be a part of the Salinas Valley Fair Heritage Foundation history.

2025 Scholarship Recipients

Anahi Lopez Salinas Valley Fair Heritage Foundation Scholarship Winner

Our 2025 SVFHF Animal Scholarship Winner is Valeria Beltran, a Junior from Gonzales High School. She is the Vice President for the Gonzales High FFA, the Monterey Bay Section Treasurer, and Gonzales High Class of 2026 Class President. Valeria is very active in other school activities such as cheerleading and leadership. She will be raising a hog for the SVFHF this year.

Christopher Castro is this year’s Reserve Scholarship Winner. He is a member of the Greenfield FFA and is a senior. Through FFA he has participated in Opening and Closing Competitions and has raised a pig and lambs. He is an athlete and is in the top 10 in his class academically. Christopher works part time and volunteers frequently in youth soccer. He will be raising a hog for the SVF.
